John Healey: Local powers for councils to protect communities and improve standards in the private rented sector
Housing and Planning Minister John Healey today announced new local powers to control the spread of high concentrations of shared rented homes and to tackle pockets of unsafe and substandard accommodation run by bad landlords.

Jesmond Festival Parade 2010
The following roads will be used for the parade on Saturday 13 March 2010 between 11:45 and 12:45:
Lindisfarne Road – from its junction with Osborne Road to the entrance to St Georges Church
Osborne Road - from its junction with Lindisfarne Road to its junction with Acorn Road
Acorn Road - from its junction with Osborne Road to its junction with St Georges Terrace
St Georges Terrace - from its junction with Acorn Road to its junction with Thornleigh Road
Thornleigh Road - from its junction with St Georges Road to its junction with Forsyth Road
Forsyth Road – from its junction with Thornleigh Road to its junction with Brentwood Road
Brentwood Road – from its junction with Forsyth Road to West Jesmond Primary School
In order to minimise impact on traffic the parade will be supported by a traffic management company to ensure the roads are closed for as short a period as necessary. However there will still be an impact on traffic within the area.
During the parade all of the above roads will be marshalled and stewarded to avoid endangering the general public and those people participating in the parade. View programme...View Programme... |
